Urban Dock Lalaport Toyosu

We were preparing to go on an outing this morning and noticed it was raining!   Remembering a tip from my friend Ann, we decided to venture out to a shopping mall called Urban Dock Lalaport Toyosu.  Check out the website:  http://toyosu.lalaport.jp/en/index.shtml
It was HUGE and really kid-friendly.  In fact, most of the people we saw there were other families with little kids and babies (which, needless to say, was adorable!).  Everything was set up for kids--from the bathrooms to the restaurants.  We wandered around shopping, and then realized Willow was hungry so we went to a pastry and coffee shop (chococroi or something like that) and had a snack--and inside of the little cafe there was a kids play area (see below).  Chris accidentally spilled the iced coffee we got, and the worker was REALLY nice and came and cleaned up our table and then brought us another one for free :)

Then we wandered around some more (3 stories is a LOT!), and eventually had lunch at a tasty Indian restaurant calle Bombay Talkie--it was Bollywood themed.  It had a free "salad" buffet with lunch purchase (they had a green salad with an AWESOME asian dressing, pasta salad, cold corn, and some fruit salad).  It was quite good.  Then we went shopping in some cool kids/baby stores and bought clothes for the kids--including some traditional Japanese stuff!
Then in the evening we went wandering in a new direction from our apartment and found neat residential neighborhoods with elementary schools and apartments.  We found a neat park with a fun playground that Fox played on.  It was quite big--here's a picture of part of it.

Then on the way home we saw a Freshness Burger!  http://www.freshnessburger.co.jp/  I've been wanting to go to one (they have 2 veggie burgers!) so we'll have to go there soon.
