Ometesando

Today we went to the Ometesando area.  We went to Oriental Bazaar, which is a neat 3 story building with nothing but traditional Japanese goods for purchase.  We bought a lot of stuff--for us, as gifts, etc.  Here is Chris outside of it:

Then we went to Crayon House!  It was a neat kids bookstore/toystore, with an organic market and organic restaurant downstairs.  Here is a link to it:   http://www.crayonhouse.co.jp/home/index.html
We had the lunch buffet, and we got to sit at the neat low tables, with our feet in the pit.  It appeared to be where they put all of the families with babies--of which there were quite a few.  In fact, the entire restaurant was filled with mothers and their children!  We only saw two men (other than Chris) the entire time we were there.   The food was good--each dish was labelled (in English) as either a vegetable dish, a fish dish, or a meat dish.  Most of them were vegetable dishes.  There was a big tasty salad with interesting mushrooms and noodles with an asian dressing, peanutbuttery potatoes of some kind, an odd fried thing I couldn't identify, tofu with japanese pickles, and huge vats of tasty brown rice with toppings.  And hot green tea.  Not bad!  We gave Willow her bottle there, as she was hungry, too.

 After lunch we wandered down the street again to find Kiddyland--a big toy store.  A neat place!  They had tons of little cars/trucks that Fox has started collecting--we got him a bus, a police car, and (best of all) a tiny garage!  Fox has been obsessed with garages lately, so he is in LOVE with this thing.  You push a little button and the door automatically opens--he can't get enough of it.  Here's a picture of him playing with it at the table while I'm giving Willow a bottle.

 Oh, and I forgot to mention that last night Willow rolled over!  It was very slow, and quite accidental (she has no control of her limbs yet), but very fun to watch.  We put her on her belly to practice lifting her head, and she eventually ended up on her back!  Here's a picture of her partway through.

Oh, and there was another earthquake last night around midnight when I was feeding Willow.  Crazy!  I looked it up, and this was only a 6 or something, but still--pretty weird!
