I came across this interesting article and video about child abuse in Japan. Apparently orphanages in Tokyo are at 100% capacity right now due to the overwhelming number of children removed from homes due to abuse. Very sad. It also touches upon how foster care and adoption are rare because of the social stigmas and blood ties.
