We got an email from our Taiwan agency today saying that the estimated wait for a girl up to 3 years old (which is even older than we're asking for) is at least 4 years at this point. Wow. That is approaching Chinese timelines! So we are very grateful that we've gotten on the Japanese list--even though it is taking longer than we thought, it shouldn't be THAT bad. Hopefully?
On a lighter note, we went to a JAS (Japan America Society) meeting again today. Those are always enjoyable. Very friendly people, tasty snacks, and interesting speakers. This time there was an officer from the Japanese Selft Defense Forces who talked about the state of Japan's "military" and what it is like. Very interesting!
