I came across an interesting article that talks about "positive" stereotyping, and how it is really not so "positive." With a Japanese daughter, I think this might be rather relevant for us in the future....

This is a very good article. I think many Americans have positive opinions of Asian children, but they are still pre-conceived notions. I've never thought about how that would put a lot of pressure on a child to excel in certain areas. Thanks for posting this!
